Halloween Alphabet Book H is for Haunted House By: Tanya Lee Stone Illustrated by: Scott Burroughs

A great book to get your kiddos ready for Halloween and learning their alphabet at the same time.  This book is full of spooky and silly fun! My kids love picking which kids costume they want to have from this book for Halloween.

Each letter is showcased in uppercase followed by a Halloween rhyme.
"E is for eyeballs
(They're grapes that we peel).
They slip through our fingers, We scream and we squeal!"

Children will have fun with this book and I love books that help me review something like the alphabet while making it fun.

Eating the Alphabet Fruits & Vegetables from A to Z By: Lois Ehlert

Eating the Alphabet is an awesome book filled with familiar and exotic fruits and vegetables. Not only do you get to introduce your children to different things to eat and try for the first time but you also get to teach the alphabet. This book includes the upper and lower case of each letter. The book is saturated with such vivid pictures with beautiful colors.

You can have a lot of fun with this book.  Have your kids pick a fruit/vegetable to try each week or test their knowledge of the foods they might be familiar with and of course teach them their letters!  We like to get this book from the "big book" section of the library and lie on the floor and explore this great book.  I love the section in the back of the book that describes every food item to give you more information if you are unfamiliar with something.  There is also a page with the tiny illustrated version of the foods and my girls love picking one and then trying to name what it is or go hunting to find where the bigger match it so they can name it for us!

Have fun reading to your children and to a book that encourages healthy eating and learning something new!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom By: Bill Martin Jr. And John Archambault Illustrated by: Lois Ehlert

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a fun way to get your kids to learn the alphabet! The letters from A-Z are pictured on a full page spread with both the big and little letters. It is a great way to introduce kids who might know their upper case letters to the lower case ones they aren't familiar with.

The story reads almost like a song and has all the little lower case letters climbing up the coconut tree until the coconut tree can't hold any more and they all fall out!   "Skit skat skoodle doot, Flip flop flee. Everybody running to the coconut tree. Mamas and papas and uncles, and aunts hug their little dears, then dust their pants." That part is my girls favorite!  They love the silliness of it all! All the little letters some bruised and with lost teeth get up and leave but as the full moon comes out "a" gets out of bed and climbs up the tree taunting "Dare double dare, you can't catch me."

This book now is just as fun to read as it was the first time! This will become a favorite for sure and parents use it as a fun learning tool! Here is to learning while reading and having fun doing it!!
